Lakeside and Gilly Law Community Association

Lakeside & Gilley Law Community Association is a registered charity which runs a community building. There are 19 different community groups that use the building including art, dance, card making, fitness, bowls, music, bingo and puppy training. Sunderland City Council owns the building and the Association has a 10 year lease (from 2002). There are 14 local people on the management committee and it employs a part time cleaner. The Association is based in the St Chads ward and has 250 members who mainly live in the seven tower blocks nearby. Income comes from room hire and fundraising events.
