Lancaster Nature Reserve Placement – Heysham Nature Reserve

The placement will work on four (two of which come under this application) of the Trusts northern reserves, under the supervision of the Reserves Manager, and will be reponsible for carrying out practical management work on the Trust reserves. It is envisaged that they will be assisted by volunteers on the weekly working party currently being set up at the North Lancashire office, which they will lead on the majority of occasions. It is hoped that this will enable the Trust to carry out valuable habitat management and access work, currently not undertaken due to lack of staff resources. By engaging the local community through working parties and events on the sites, we will help promote an understanding of nature conservation in the area and raise awareness of these important sites within the neighbouring communities. It will also offer the successful candidate the chance to gain work experience in land management, volunteer development and educational work
