Layer de la Haye Village Hall, Colchester – Rebuilding Project (20029/D)

The The Village Hall consists of two connected buildings. The newer part was built in the 1970’s, but the older part (the ‘Old Hall’), which was built in the 1920’s, is in need of replacement. It has reached the end of its life and is becoming very expensive to maintain. Some parts need complete refurbishment but in the view of consultants who were asked to assess its condition, it would be uneconomic to update the existing hall. The project is the replacement of the older hall with a new similarly sized building offering better and additional facilities.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the rebuilding project.
