Leckhampton Hill & Charlton Kings Common Walling Project

This partnership project aims to restore 1300 metres of Cotswald stone wall along the historic boundary of Leckhampton Hill and Charlton Kings common. This is part of a wider objective to restore 4.5 km of boundary wall to secure the common for grazing. This will provide continuity and sustainability for the project, with this section of wall being completed by 2010 and maintained under the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme until 2020. The 1300m of boundary to be restroed runs along the Cotswald Way National Trail which offers spectacular views for walkers, riders and cyclist of the Vale of evesham, Severn Vale towards the Malvern Hills and mountains of Wales.
