Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust - Recharged a Greener Reserve

Leicestershire and Rutland Wilidlife Trust is a wildlife and community-focused organisation dedicated to conservation, environmental education and volunteer development at Rutland Water. The project will implement a suite of renewable energy solutions at the Volunteer Training Centre, which plays a vital role in engaging and educating volunteers who support conservation and visitor services across the Rutland Water Nature Reserve. These include: Solar
Photovoltaic Panels, to generate clean electricity for the building's operations and vehicles. Electric vehicle charging points to support the transition to lowemission transport. Air source heat pump to provide efficient, low-carbon heating. An electric outboard motor for managing the 1000 acre reserve. All terrain electric mobility scooter to support less able visitors to access the reserve particularly when the ground is soft and muddy.
