LEIGH SPINNERS MILL ENGINE HOUSE PHASE 3

Following the successful restoration of the engine house to Leigh Spinners Mill which was in danger of collapsing onto the surviving engine (the largest unrestored steam engine in the UK), we are now able to complete the major works by restoring the compressor room as an education room and the undercroft to the engine which can be made available to public access as an additional attraction. Specific works include: repairs to roof to prevent water penetration; opening up and repairing windows which had been bricked up; repairing the undercroft doors; creating a public route; and installing lighting. This will add to the existing engine house attraction making us more sustainable by allowing education visits and creating a room to let to local groups.
