Lench Road to St Michaels Centre Cycleway and Bridleway, Waterfoot, Rossendale

This section of cycleway/bridleway links to a previously established route (funded by the Countryside Agency) from hill End Lane to Lench Road in Waterfoot. This is part of a strategy to eventually link Bacup to Rawtenstall via a cycleway route, predominantly off road with some sections on quieter on road stages. The completed section has proved very popular, both in terms of a communter route, and with regard to providing a facility for less experienced cyclists and riders to feel safe and gain confidence. The proposed new section would connect with the recently re-opened St Michaels Centre, providing a safe route for teenagers attending activities there, and also potentially providing a safe stretch for cycle proficiency training for younger kids, provided by Groundwork
