LFC Community Hall Refurbishment

Supported by community groups, young people, Councillors & the generosity of Homes & Communities Agency, the community has successfully lobbied for the acquisition of former Ryland Memorial Building in West Bromwich. In the past year, young people’s involvement as Research Volunteers for LFC identified that the most significant and immediate need for support is the upgrade of the acquired building in order to create the space and facilities for young people to get involved in community based work where they will deliver a wide range of ‘community based social and recreational activities’ from West Bromwich. Supported by Foyer Federation, this youth led proposal seeks a £24,667 grant towards improving the community hall. At the Project Development Meeting held on 17th February (see video), LFC Young Ambassadors unanimously agreed to focus on the refurbishment of the community hall so that it can provide a central hub for all communities to communicate, connect and create opportunities for themselves.
