Library and Special Collections Centre

The University’s new Library and Special Collections Centre will provide state – of – the – art facilities for its students, staff and visitors allowing access to printed resources and the latest online and electronic technologies.
In addition, this project will enable the University to preserve and promote its outstanding and unique heritage to local, regional and national audiences – and to the global scholarly community. Public access to the University’s internationally significant collections of rare books, manuscripts and papers will be significantly enhanced through the provision of a wide range of community engagement and schools programmes to be delivered in the exhibition and learning facilities within the building.
Designed by the internationally acclaimed Danish architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen, the Library will also be a bold and architecturally significant new landmark for Aberdeen, offering stunning views over the city.
