Lighthouse, Poole – Improving and enhancing public access

Poole Arts Trust is undertaking a desperately needed major refurbishment of Lighthouse to guarantee the ongoing provision of world class arts. One of the most significant aspects is public access improvements to transform a seemingly closed building into an open, vibrant and welcoming iconic cultural building. This includes relocating the front entrance of the building and replace the current opaque Reglit glass with transparent glass. The current entrance is to one side of the front of the building, making it difficult for people to identify from outside. Once inside, it is difficult to navigate through the foyer to find the staircase to our main auditoria. The new position of the doors will create a focal entrance point, and making access much easier.
