Lilian Bland Community Garden

The project aims to reat a community garden within Lilian Bland (formerly Glengormley) park. The aim is to increase the variety, colour and mixed habitats within the park instead of a mass of cut grass.Many older people, mother and young children within the community use the park for exercise but would like amore informal section where they can enjoy a greater variety of plants and wildlife. The garden will include a wildflower meadow with a cut grass path, seating, native hedge to define the area and clusters of native planting and mixed fruit trees. The space wioll be transfored through a series of open days where local groups, residents and youth can become actively involved to transform their space.
