Lincoln – Tower Estate Play Area

The Tower Community Group have identified a need to improve the existing play area, which is out of date and not up to current European safety standards. The site is a disused, run down park with old and poor quality play equipment. Currently, the facilities at the park only meet the needs of a specific age group, and so younger children and mothers and toddlers are deterred from using the area. Local children and residents associate the park with a number of negative aspects and many are put off from using it, meaning the site is not fulfilling its full potential as a community amenity. The project aims to impove the site by replacing the existing equipment with an enclosed multi-ourpose games area, youth shelter, young childrens play area and seating around the park.
WREN funding will be towards the provision of toddlet play area subject to details of equipment to be installed.
