Linskill Centre Heating Improvements

The Linskill Centre is 6500m2 and has three boiler houses serving the heating and hot water supplies. Two of the centre’s boiler houses have been upgraded and the remaining boiler house is served by a boiler plant which is 30 years old. The project will install a new heating installation that would serve 45% of the west wing, therefore reducing the load on the old boiler plant. A feasibility study carried out resulted in a reduction and running cost of 20-30% and potential for carbon savings of 25,000kgs per annum which would be of benefit to the environment. The project would also install static valves to all radiators within the blanchland wing of the centre allowing control of individual room temperatures and providing further carbon savings of 12,000kgs per annum.

This project would also improve the comfort of the community rooms within the Linskill Centre, making the centre a more pleasant environment for service users and visitors to learn, socialise and play.
