Little Wood ‘Fishing Pond Development Project’, Friends of Stockbridge Village, Knowsley, Merseyside

Local community consultation on proposed improvements to Little Wood, the main public green space in Stockbridge Village, identified that there was a strong need and aspiration for provision of freely accessible local angling facilities. Local young men otherwise at great risk of engaging in anti-social activity are particularly interested. It is proposed to convert the existing pond at the eastern end of the woods for free angling/pond dipping activity. Through physical improvements and engagement activities, this new facility will be a resource for the local community, as well as schools, etc. for recreational angling and educational activity.
