Liverton Mines Former Wood Yard

The project is located on the site of a former Wood Yard. The site now appears as derelict land, with areas of bare land where rubble and woodchip have been left and vegetation can not colonise. As a result the area is often used for fly tipping and other anti-social behaviour. If funding is received the area will be transformed into a safe and accessible wildlife area for the local residents. The area has drainage problems, therefore drainage channels will be reformed and a pond will be created in an exisiting damp area. Rubble will be removed and soil from the excavation of the drainage channels will be used to cover areas of wood chip enabling a diverse flora to establish. Footpaths will be repaired, seating will be installed and a viewing area will be created on a raised part of the site.
