Living Levels Habitat Restoration

The Gwent Levels is one of the largest areas of reclaimed grassland in the UK and the largest in
Wales. The reclaimed land and associated drainage features of the Levels require specialised
effort and a shift in land management across the farmed landscape is putting it at risk. This
project will engage, train and support landowners to improve the long-term condition of the
SSSIs; the water-management within the Gwent Levels area; and reduce the flood risk further
afield.
