Llanddona Commons Local Nature Reserve

Llanddona Commons Local Nature Reserve comprises two units of common land; Llanddona Common, containing a mosaic of flower rich grassland, heath and scrub; and Llaniestyn Common, a significant area of open lowland heath. Management at Llanddona includes seasonally cutting the grassland, and removing the cuttings. Llaniestyn is managed to favour heathland, which includes removal of scrub, bracken, non-native invasives, and occasional burning, provision of signage to aid public access, and removal of fly tipped material. The LNR is highly valued by the local community. Existing interpretation material will be maintained and new material introduced. Lowland heath is a LBAP habitat for Anglesey.
