Lockleaze Skate Park

We seek funding for ‘The Vench’, an adventure playground and community centre in the deprived ward of Lockleaze, Bristol. We currently offer free play/physical activity sessions to children aged 8-13, supervised by experienced playworkers. Our project responds to the obesity crisis in Lockleaze, through encouraging more children/young people (including those aged 13+) to undertake recreational physical activity. We will install new amenities to encourage more regular, demanding physical activity; Consultation with local young people identified skate-ramps, multi-use games area (MUGA) improvements, and a roundhouse for year-round play, as key developments that would encourage children and young people to take part.
