Longfield Hill Community Hall, Kent – External Refurbishment (007817)

The Community Hall was built in 1949 and is made of concrete which has deteriorated such that moisture penetrates the walls and causes dampness internally. The hall is also very cold. Having recently installed a new insulated roof and interior ceiling the hall usage is increasing however it is expected usage will deteriorate over the winter months if the issues regarding access and dampness are not resolved. The installation of External Wall Insulation (EWI) system will prevent the water penetration and the addition of insulation will ensure that the hall can be kept warm and day. The current frontage is uneven without adequate path. The works also include a new path up to and around the building allowing safe access for all.
