Longford Park, Stretford – Disc Golf Course (50243/D/TP)

The project aims to convert an abandoned pitch and put course into a course for Disc golf a new game which does not require the same open manicured greens and fairways, in fact players welcome obstacles. Boundaries will be freed up to allow greater pedestrian access for other park users to better enjoy a more interesting space without the risk of being hit by a small hard ball. We will install and landscape an 18 target course with associated Tee off points and signage that will accommodate both beginners and advanced players. We will remove a length of fence line to the north of the site which constrains pedestrians using the main park paths. The new trees, level changes and wet areas will provide new interest for other visitors, a new free facility, and open to users of all abilities.This will provide a championship class disc golf course that will also be free to use by any amateur of any age or ability with just a simple Frisbee when visiting the park
