Lostock Valley Bridleway, Leyland – Reinstatement and improvement (50025/D)

The projects aim is To reinstate an old bridleway by removing the existing rotted woodchip surface and replacing it with ‘Toptrec’, a recycled product which is suitable for horses, wheelchairs, cycles, pushchairs and walkers. A wooden sleeper bridge will be replaced with a piped culvert and drainage provided to the lowest section of the route. New educational signage and fencing will be installed where required. Provision of this new surface will transform this currently unusable bridle path into a multi-use track. The path is an integral link to other routes used by horses, taking them off a busy highway.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the Bridleway improvements.
