Lovely Leighswood, Leighswood School, Aldridge, Walsall

This is a project for the construction of a shelter/canopy as part of a community sensory garden at Leighswood Primary School in Aldridge. Leighswood Primary School is a true community school with an established open access policy, which ensures maximum community access and use of this valuable resource. The school is fully supportive of this project, which will enable community groups to make full use of the school grounds. The school site is used regularly for community events and group meetings, however lack of covered shelter has meant that groups have limited use, particularly during the winter months and the hotter summer days.The area to be covered is accessible to the public through a separate gate, and is securely fenced from the rest of the school site, so enabling full free and unhindered access to the local community outside of school hours.
