Lower Castledawson Community Association - Kiddies Play Area

The creation of a kiddies play area for children aged 2-10. LCCA is a community association for all the residents of Castledawson but especially the residents of Lower Castledawson where the association is based. Formed over 11 years ago LCCA leases its community house & a small plot of land immediately adjacent from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive on a 25 year lease. It is this plot of land that the LCCA would like to convert into a kiddies play area. The play area would include 7 pieces of play equipment & wet pour safety surfaces & graphics. Planning permission for the play area has already been granted & the Northern Ireland Housing Executive & the Local Council are both fully supportive. The objectives are: • To create a much needed play area for local children • To build community spirit by allowing local children & parents to meet in a fun & safe environment • To encourage active & healthy lifestyles among our young people by encouraging them to enjoy outdoor physical activity.
