Lower Glen Vale Access Works

The aim of the project will include the construction of 2 new bridges, the removal of barriers, upgrades to surfacing and infrastructure on 2 designated core paths and 1 other access routes. These works will create new, multi user, off-road routes linking directly between the settlements of Burnside to the west with the village of Gateside in the east and linking both to the Lomond Hills Regional Park (LHRP) in the South via Glenvale. This will also create direct access by public transport via the bus stop at Burnside. Currently there are no such links for these 2 communities; the only access is via the busy A91 with no footpath. These improvements would further open up possibilities for future developments with existing connections to Glenrothes and Strathmiglo.
