Lower Moor Wetland and Access

The aim of this project is to improve the visitor experience at Lower Moor Farm.

The site at Lower Moor hosts the nationally recognised wildflower Clattinger Meadows and the recently completed wetland area. Under project 78 works were done to some visitor areas and this project will take us to the next stage of enhancing and supporting visitor infrastructure over the next 2 years.

This includes upgrading the pathway to enable a full circular walk around the lakes in wetter weather, works to bird hides and works to other infrastructure such as buildings and signage throughout the site, as identified annually in relation to visitor numbers and feedback. It will also include smaller works to improve visitor experience and connection with nature as the wetland matures and species variation increases.

The previous works to pathways have enabled the reduction of negative impacts on plants and ground species immediately adjacent to these routes. Extending durable pathways throughout the site will further benefit nature and visitors alike.
