Lower River Findhorn Conservation Action Days

The project aims to enhance the biodiversity of the lower river catchment for the Findhorn River and adjoining Moray Firth coastal region for the benefit of rare and endangered species, notably Atlantic Salmon. During 201/14, the project will carry out direct conservation action to restore and enhance freshwater, riparian, estuarine and coastal habitats by removing invasive non-native species, particularly Himalayan Balsam, and clearing litter. This work will directly benefit a range of species under threat, particularly Atlantic Salmon which will benefit from improved water quality and reduced threat from litter such as discarded fishing nets, plastics, etc.
