Lowndes Park, Chesham – New Play Equipment (2) (008042)

The current play area was last refurbished in 2009, with a significant portion of the equipment now removed leaving very little for children aged 5+. As a result, many families regularly travel out of Chesham to visit other playgrounds. By transforming the play space at the heart of town with inclusive, challenging and sustainable play equipment suitable for children aged 5-11 the project will reduce travel whilst promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of children and enabling communities to come together safely to enjoy diversionary activities. The design works with the landscape to minimise earthworks. Tree planting, bug hotel, bird and bat box installation and pollinator-friendly, drought-resistant planting will provide new habitats.
