Lutterworth Cricket Club – Pavilion Improvements

Established in 1789 and based in the heart of Lutterworth, the Club aims to support and encourage as many people as possible to enjoy playing cricket along with ensuring our pavilion is a welcoming space for our community to enjoy. The Club has ECB ClubMark accreditation, and has four senior sides playing in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League, along with a Women’s Softball & Hardball Cricket team and thriving junior section (250+ members).
This project consists of three elements to support the sustainability of the community club and facility.
(a) Solar Panels – the project will install solar panels to become more environmentally friendly and more cost effective. The current prediction for energy costs, based on usage, equate to £18,000 per year which is approximately three times higher than previously. This puts the club under a significant strain to ensure they can continue to provide a service, at an affordable level, for the community.
(b) Pavilion furniture – the project will also provide replacement furniture for the community facility. The current furniture is no longer fit for purpose, and does not have sufficient seating to run large events. There are several local community groups that rely on usage of the facility to provide a range of essential activities including uniform groups, drama groups, the rotary club and a range of local organisations. New furniture will
ensure the space is an inclusive and welcoming environment for the community to enjoy.
(c) CCTV and Fire System – the project will provide a CCTV and fire alarm system to safeguard the building and protect users.
