Luxmore Gardens, London – Play Area Refurbishment (006288)

Luxmore Gardens sits between 2 roads – Rokeby Rd and Malpas Rd (a traffic filled B-road), with the busy TfL road Lewisham Way (A20) just beyond.. It is a small park with mature trees and shrubs, a small playground and open green space and is used by local residents, children, young people, families and dog walkers and also serves as a cut through to local shops, schools and bus routes.

Sadly over the last few years the park has become dilapidated: park furniture and play equipment are in a state of disrepair, beds are barren and trees damaged. Increased littering, dog fouling and other anti-social behaviour add to the feel of neglect.

This project will create a naturalistic play area with new apparatus and a den area in existing shrubs and add a table tennis table providing play opportunities for a broader age range than the park currently caters to, plus install a water fountain, new litter and dog waste bins and picnic seating
