Mabley Green Open Space, Hackney - New Edible Park (20120/D)

The project aims to create a local open space that responds to the needs and aspirations of local people. The project is directed at promoting healthy lifestyles through the production of a variety of food crops and active lifestyles by providing local people with an opportunity to garden in a public space. We will also remediate an area of land that is currently contaminated land and bring it back into public use. Opening up the adjoining area of high bio-diversity value and managing it appropriately will secure its future and provide a local educational resource. The Trust grant will contribute towards the new edible park.
