The project will restore the roadside verges on Magdalen Hill down, near Winchester to secure the future of the increasingly rare striped Lychnis moth in the area. This will be achieved by 1)practical conservation management by contractors and volunteers, to include scrub management, ground disturbance work and Dark Mullein ( the moth’s sole food plant) plug planting, 11) monitoring the impact of this work on habitat condition and moth numbers, iii) management of volunteers undertaking conservation, surveying and monitoring tasks
