Major External Refurbishment Work to Hindu Community Centre, The Indian Association Cheltenham (Glos)

This is a project to undertake major external repairs to the Hindu Community Centre in Cheltenham. The Hindu Community Centre building is over 100 years old, having originally been a Methodist chapel. It comprises a ground floor with a main hall with badminton court and a stage, a kitchen and two multipurpose rooms, and ladies, gents and disabled toilets. The first floor comprises an office and store rooms and a Hindu Temple, which is the only one within 50 miles radius.

The outside of the building has decayed over the years. Areas of concern include the roof, the old masonry stones, the flat roof, sky light windows, the brickwork, and flashings. One side wall requires rendering and re-plastering. ECT is being approached to contribute towards the repair works.
