Making History at St Fagans

Our Making History Redevelopment project will transform St Fagans: National History Museum. This exciting, ambitious redevelopment project will establish this well-loved museum as Wales’s must see tourist destination. People will be able to explore, enjoy and discover even more of the story of Wales in new and diverse ways. It will be a new kind of museum, combining the insights of research in the galleries with the participation and enjoyment of an open-air site and the natural environment. Making History will ensure that the facilities at St Fagans match those expected of a national museum, equal to the richness of the Museum’s collections and diverse learning experiences. The new facilities and displays will transform the way people engage with Welsh history. We will create a destination where visitors can immerse themselves in the story of Wales, from the ancient times, through the rich political and social stories which describe the development of nationhood, right up to the present day and beyond.
