Managing Ash Dieback at Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve

At Sevenoaks Wildlife reserve, there are hundreds of ash trees infected with ash dieback disease that will need to be managed – mostly through felling and removal - to make the paths, access and car park accessible and safe for visitors. This project will support management of ash here, removing diseased trees to maintain access and safety in visitor areas. The targeted management of the infected trees in hazardous locations also means that those infected trees in non-hazardous locations can be left alone to either create deadwood habitat, which is very important for wildlife, or potentially to recover from the disease and aid in overall resilience as a long term solution.
