Managing Loch Levens Habitats for Prioirty Wetland Species

We will carry out vegetation management including topping (cutting) of rush, and improve hydrological control structures including clearing and re-profiling of the site’s existing network of ditches. This work will benefit otters, lapwing and curlew (all UK Biodiversity Action Plan priority species) as well as a range of other species such as redshank, pink-footed goose, ring plover and whooper swans.
