Managing the Marshes

The project will contribute to the long-term ecological improvement of Crayford Marsh, undertaking surveying and management works to enhance the marsh’s habitat and maintain and extend its biodiversity.
Ecological surveying will be used to produce baselines of the marsh’s biodiversity and to develop a long-term management and monitoring plan for the marsh which will inform the delivery of key enhancement works on the site. This will include identifying vegetation and species populations on the site and preserving them and identifying and removing invasive species to preserve the marsh habitat. Schools, community groups and volunteers will be encouraged to visit the marsh and become involved in its improvement
