Manchester Mosslands Bog Plant Reintroductions

Through ongoing restoration the site has developed well with good cover of Sphagnum Moss and other bog species as well as stable hydrology.
The site is now deemed ready for the reintroduction of the next level of bog species which historically would have been found in the area, but have been regionally extinct for close to 150 years.
These include the plants White beaked sedge, which supports the Ringlet butterfly, and Bog Asphodel, which is used by the Large Heath Butterfly.
