Marbury Reedbed and Woodlands

The Nature Reserve consists of oak/birch woodland, willow and alder car (wet woodland) and a reedbed. In 2012 a 160m recycled plastic boardwalk funded LFCTF, was constructed running through the reedbed, linking the woodlands to Marbury Country Park. The increased visitor numbers, due to the huge success of this project, has caused previously passable sections of the woodland floor to become churned up, muddy and waterlogged, damaging the ground flora, detracting from the visitor experience and reducing accessibility. This project will address this replacing 40m of the worst bits of the path with new sections of recycled plastic boardwalk.
