March Street Community Garden

The project is all about expanding and optimising a derelict playing field to include the following elements:
• Creation of a natural fruit forest, providing / promoting fresh, local, seasonal fruit.
• Creation of a natural hedgerow providing supporting and promoting a positive ecology in the area including small mammals, birds, insects etc.
• Creation of willow bank supporting the natural drainage of the site alongside providing a valuable crop than can be developed and used as part of a social enterprise.
• Creation of a number of large growing beds these will be used to provide vegetables for both those involved in the growing process and to be distributed via the food bank schemes for those in need.
• Creation of a five aside football pitch in response to the needs and desires of the Young People.
