Mardyke Bridge at Purfleet

This is a major project to provide a new pedestrian / cycle bridge over the river Mardyke at the mouth of its confluence with the River Thames. This will provide an important link from Purfleet to the major new RSPB nature reserve at Purfleet / Aveley marshes, and will form part of SUSTRANS’ Thames – side cycle route and the Sussex Essex Way. The project will require substantial additional funding and preparatory work, so at this stage all costs shown are ‘guestimates’ only.
