Marks Gate Underpass, Dagenham

Sustrans have delivered a successful two year Community Street Design Project in the Marks Gate area of Dagenham. As part of an accessibility audit conducted the local residents and Sustrans identified an approach to an important underpass beneath the A12 as in need of improvement for access as a walking and cycling route. This project will see improvements to the approach and the underpass and will open up the approach, remove railings and replace them with handrails and implement some place-making features including trees, planting and solar light studs.
