Marl Hall – biodiversity and access project

Situated above and below a limestone cliff overlooking Llandudno Junction, this 12 hectare (29 acre) site is a prominent landscape feature in the Lower Conwy valley.
We propose to carry out essential works to maintain the species – rich calcareous grassland through control of holm oak and invasive scrub. Further work is necessary to prevent non- native species from taking over other parts of the site. Removing these plants now will ensure biodiversity can flourish wihin the wood and keep it as a special place for visitors to enjoy. Already a popular site with the local community WREN Gift Aid funding will enable the Trust to carry out essental footpath improvements to enhance visitor access to this impressive and well – used site.
