Marlboroughs Green Roof Community Garden

The project will create a high quality green roof community garden within the Marlboroughs estate, to benefit both the residents of the flats and maisonettes and the general public, as they pass through the site on their way to the City Centre. Works include site clearance and removal of surfacing in poor condition; two large seating walls; new level paving constructed from bound gravel, which will make it easier for people of all ages and abilities to use the site; creation of 2 ramped access points to replace existing dilapidated steps; new hardwood cladding from sustainable sources, to disguise unattractive part demolished shed walls; new boundary enclosure incorporating signage; 1 semi-mature tree; Wisteria vines and a lawn area to provide an appealing space for children’s play.
This project forms part of a wider project within Marlborough estate. This registration relates solely to site 1 (land off Fountain Street).
