Martin Mere Discovery Hide

Our aim is to provide a bird observation and educational facility targeted at a much broader variety of visitor groups than traditional hides, which is also sympathetic to the landscape, wildlife and water management. The hide will become a welcoming portal into the reserve encouraging visitors that do not normally venture outside the centre grounds. The hide will primarily target two key audiences identified within our Engagement Strategy ‘Learn Together Families'(motivated by the desire to learn as a family) and ‘Social Naturalists’ (motivated by seeing wildlife and spending time with others), along with keen ornithologists. It aims to prolong visitors’ dwell time and offer appeal throughout the seasons.
