Mather Road Recreation Ground, Sheffield - MUGA creation (008509)

The project will deliver a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), together with improved access, disabled parking and wildflower planting at Mather Road Recreation Ground in East Sheffield. It forms part of a wider ambition to regenerate the park, help the community be more active, and improve access to high-quality green space. Sheffield City Council and Littledale, Bowden Wood and Hallsal tenant association (TARA) led a consultation that identified an accessible MUGA as the next priority for the site. The recreation ground already includes a pavilion, a recently refurbished playground, and grass football pitches; the new MUGA will complement these facilities and will be used by the community, the Inclusion Service, sports clubs, youth clubs, and local schools. It will be fully accessible and provide a safe, high quality, and flexible space for structured and unstructured sports and physical activity.
