McClean Way Community Access

A former railway line, the McClean Way is popular with the local community as a traffic-free green space where people can walk and cycle. Many access the path from the Wryley and Essington canal towpath, however it is not currently a formal access point so involves scrambling up/down a steep dirt bank. We would use the funding to install steps with handrails and a bicycle wheeling channel to improve the quality and safety of the access point. Our local volunteers will support the project by assisting in ground preparation, vegetation control, and promoting the path’s use via social media.
