Meadow Road Park, Stafford – Site Development (40063/D)

The aim of the project is to enhance the park as a whole. The local community and stakeholders have worked to develop a site development plan for the Park, focusing on core areas to deliver a scheme which lifts the area in terms of general amenity and play value. Proposals for the park include an outdoor gym, this will give adult park users somewhere to socialise whilst watching their children play. Skate and BMX parks scored highly in consultation. A plaza-style facility has been selected containing ramps, rails, steps, a half bowl and a bank. The play value of the park will be increased by adding dynamic features such as a pod swing, zip wire and hexagonal swing set. The general amenity of the park will be lifted by increasing the green infrastructure of the park placing trees along the boundary. New benches will provide rest points along the central pathway and rationalising the bins will make the park appear looked after.

The Trust grant will contribute towards the site development.
