Measham Youth Centre, Measham – Refurbishment (4893/D)

To aim of the project is to provide premises for hire, comprising performance venue, meeting facilities and party room space. Uniquely ‘housed’ within an old Methodist Chapel, upstairs will provide performance and rehearsal space for instrumentalists, bands, theatrical groups and dance. Downstairs meeting and function rooms, enhanced by modern kitchen faciities will enable events to be held by organisations and residents. Funding is required to replace the existing large Georgian chapel windows with double glazed units incorporating a noise reduction differential in glass thickness. 8 arched windows and 4 rectangular windows all of which will be replaced by windows retaining a similar design to the 1840 originals. Repair of the rendering on all exterior walls, reparing guttering and repainting. Improving the toilet facilities by making use of an available small room so that a separate disabled toilet can be created. The Trust grant will contribute towards the windows, exterior repairs and disabled toilet.
