Medieval Forest – Access and Interpretation

The project will improve physical access around the site and improve interpretation and learning opportunities so that everyone has the chance to learn about the heritage and wildlife of the forest in a safe, relaxed and engaging way. The project will create a boardwalk that will enable a greater level of exploration and enable people to experience the multiple sensory opportunities the Forest has to offer, on a route which is easily accessible and inclusive to all, all year round. A sensory interpretation trail will be created at key points along the route of the boardwalk and the grassland around the lake will be reinforced to ensure this popular area can remain open all year round, whilst limiting damage to biodiversity.
