Medlock Valley Way

The Medlock Valley Way is a 12 -mile long-distance footpath, which passes through Oldham, Tameside and Manchester, following the route of the river Medlock. It was one of the original projects carried out by the Medlock Valley Warden Service in the 1980’s and now requires significant upgrading so that it can again become a recreational route that will benefit many different communities.
This is a partnership project between Oldham MBC, Tameside MBC, Manchester City Council, Groundwork Manchester and BTCV
The project will –
Evaluate and define the route of the Medlock Valley Way. Upgrade footpaths, signage and waymarking
